SIZING GUIDE: 1.37 vs 1.5 vs 2.00
You may have noticed a few diameter options when perusing the site. All windows are different and the thickness you select is simply a matter of preference. That said, here are some general tips that may help you decide which diameter would work best for your window(s).
Aesthetically, designers prefer the look of 1.37″ DIA rods on single windows (casing measuring 30″ – 50″ wide). This is also the best size if using curtains with rod pockets or grommets.
This size is the preferred choice for longer windows and rooms with higher ceilings. It is also used with curtains that have longer length pleats. May look bulky on shorter windows and does not fit grommets.
The 2.00 DIA rod is perfect for large rooms and areas with high ceilings. It is a great compliment to curtains made from medium to heavy weight fabric and makes a wonderful translucence but bold statement.
Q: What is the bracket’s projections?
A: Bracket projection for 1 3/8″ rod is is 3-½”. Backplate is 1-¾”
Q: If I need multiple center brackets will I be able to close my drapes all the way?
A: Yes, in this case you would use C rings, which are able to bypass our metal brackets.
Q: Are the brass brackets lacquered?
A: The polished brass brackets are lacquered, but the brushed/satin brass brackets are not and need polishing every few months.
Q: Do you offer the hardware in custom finishes?
A: Yes, we stock hardware in finishes of polished brass, brushed/satin brass,
polished nickel, and satin nickel. There is a price difference between
polished brass hardware and hardware in the other finishes because
items in brushed brass, polished nickel, and satin nickel require
additional finishing or plating.
Q: Can I purchase the brackets separately?
A: No, we only sell our brackets with the rods.
