Luxholdups is a New York-based design and manufacturing studio
creating “jewelry for the home”. Founder Ashley Platt’s designs
reimagine everyday objects through the lense of high quality materials,
delicately balanced proportions and uncompromising craftsmanship.
Taking inspiration from art deco hardware, post modern jewelry and contemporary designs, Ashley’s creations blend form with function through the juxtaposition of contrasting materials. With a primary focus on brass, lucite and wood; each product is handmade creating a natural and unique feel. She founded Luxholdups with a simple vision: to bring elegance, beauty and strength to the objects around you in a way that is customizable and accessible.

From the company’s original collection of bespoke drapery rods, Luxholdups has expanded their reputation of precision-made architectural hardware to coffee tables, shelving, retail displays, bathroom accesories and drawer pulls. The company’s team of craftsmen and craftswomen make extraordinary items for everyday use in the home and in commercial spaces. Looking into one of her client’s homes today, you might find a lucite hamper, a smoked bronze cabinet pull, or a spalted maple console.
Launched through Etsy in 2014, it is this breadth of range that helped Luxholdups quickly become one of the highest sellers on the platform, appealing to both professionals in trade, new homeowners and design addicts. They continue to be the largest supplier of Lucite hardware in the US with showrooms across the country

Founder/Designer
Columbia graduate Ashley Platt founded Luxholdups following several unsuccessful attempts to find solid brass drapery hardware for her apartment in the West Village. She was frustrated at the gap between light weight, low quality options from big box retailers, and the astronomical prices from high-end trade-only vendors. Having grown up on a farm, Ashley was well versed in woodworking and machining skills, and combined with a new found obsession for 3D printing, she set to work designing and manufacturing them herself. It was here that the journey began - realizing that this personal lucite project could also disrupt the then-current, mundane, market product offerings. The business quickly outgrew her mom’s garage where she had set up her first workshop and Luxholdups moved to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where it remains today.
Luxholdups’ Brooklyn-based workshop production capabilities allow them
to customize designs, finishes, and sizes for each client.
Although all products are made to order, they maintain an extremely fast lead time.
Materials & Workshop
The quality of Luxholdups’ materials is the cornerstone of everthing they do— all products are made using the highest standard of cell cast acrylic, architecural grade brass, bronze and locally sourced hardwoods. The company works with variety of family-run foundries to source their metals both locally in Brooklyn and abroad. The brass is cast in small runs and finished by hand.
